Congress MLA Rudresh Gowda passes away after prolonged illness

Bengaluru, Mar 24 (UNI) Congress member from Karnataka Assembly Rudresh Gowda passed away in a private Hospital here on Saturday following a prolonged illness.
Gowda who was ailing for some time suffered a severe heart attack and collapsed on Friday when he was walking towards a polling booth to cast his vote in the Rajya Sabha poll. He was rushed to the Vikram Hospital where he breathed his last today.
He was 63. He was survived by his wife and a daughter.
He had been elected to the Karnataka legislative Assembly twice from Belur Constituency in Hassan District.
He had also been a member of the Parliament from Hassan for a term.
Family sources said, the body will be kept for public to pay their homage at Congress office, Hassan before taking it for last rites at his native village.
