Congress fields Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal from Hoshiarpur

Phagwara, Apr 16 (UNI) Even as the Congress announced Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal as its candidate for Hoshiarpur Parliamentary Constituency in the first week of the month, the BJP is yet to decide on the candidature.

Though Bahujan Samaj Party-Punjab Democratic alliance candidate Khushi Ram IAS has started his election campaign actively, the BJP activists are still in a confuses state as BJP High Command could not decide on th candidature till now due to ongoing political tussle between Phagwara MLA Som Parkash and Union Minister Vijay Sampla as both are aspirants for BJP ticket and had applied for it.

On the other hand after facing some teething trouble, the Congress candidate Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal succeeded to get support of Former Minister Joginder Singh Maan and Punjab Mahila Congress Committee leader Balbir Rani Sodhi.

Though Maan and Sodhi do not face each other but both had assured open support to Chabbewal.
