Captured elephant in Musth died at Nagarahole

Mysuru, Sep 19(UNI) A elephant captured in Musth died at Kolangeri forest area in Nagarahole national park.
Forest officials said on Wednesday said that 23 year-old elephant named Lakshmisha was in Mathigodu elephant camp in Musth. He had strayed into the forest and the officials in a bid to prevent it from entering human habitat, conducted an operation and with the help of the other tamed elephants captured Lakshmisha last evening and were bringing it to the camp during which it collapsed and died.
It was said that the elephant had escaped from the camp about four days back and during the operation to capture him; he was shot with more tranquilizer darts. But it was also said it might have suffered internal injuries while being captured by other elephants which may have resulted in his death. However. the details of death may be known only after getting postmortem report.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,951

Bhopal, Oct 31 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,951 on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh where ten fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,71,359 with 669 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 26,057 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin pegged the active cases at 8,929. Bhopal continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 134 new instances, Indore 89, Jabalpur 46, Gwalior 38, Rewa 33, Ratlam 20, Anuppur 19, Sagar 17, Chhindwara 15, Morena 13, Satna 12, Shivpuri ten, Ujjain five, etc. An encouraging fact is that no fresh patient was recorded in Alirajpur, Mandla, Burhanpur and Agar-Malwa.

Bhopal, Oct 31 (UNI) In a frontal assault targeting his predecessor, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday alleged that Congress state President Kamal Nath is unable to renounce his pride and now considers even the Election Commission of India’s decision as erroneous.
“In Mr Nath’s view, his leader Rahul Gandhi is also wrong! He feels similarly regarding government officials and even threatens them. All this signifies Mr Nath’s disappointment. He is pained by the fact that he had to relinquish power but while he was holding the reins he did work in public interest,” the senior politician conveyed via social media.
