Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) An estimated 53.3 per cent of the total 2.20 lakh electorate have exercised their franchise till 1300 hours in the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly bypoll on Saturday.
The polling will continue till 7 PM.
COVID patients will cast their votes between 6 pm and 7 pm this evening.
The voting is progressing peacefully.
The bypoll was necessitated following the death of TRS sitting MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah in December last year.
His son Nomula Bhagat is in the fray contesting as TRS candidate and Mr K Jana Reddy was contesting on Congress ticket.
Thirty nine other candidates, including from BJP were also contesting the byelection.
The counting of votes will be taken up on May 2.
