BWF World Championships: Ayush faces Shi Yu Qi, Sindhu eyes deep run

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) India’s campaign at the upcoming 2026 BWF World Championships is set to begin with some challenging matchups, especially in men’s singles.
Rising star Ayush Shetty has been handed one of the toughest possible draws, taking on world No. 1 Shi Yu Qi of China in the opening round.
Interestingly, this is the second consecutive World Championships where an Indian player has drawn Shi in the first round, after Lakshya Sen faced the Chinese ace in the previous edition.
