BSNL launches 1,000 Mbps broadband service in Himachal

Kangra, Jan 11 (UNI) Himchal residents can now avail high speed broadband services from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) as the company on Friday launched ‘Fiber to Home’ services which would provide 1,000 Mbps internet speed.
BSNL General Manager Pradeep Singh said to provide unmatched service to the consumers this project has been outsourced to the private operators.
He said that the traditional communication system was being carried through copper wires which had its own shortcomings and was providing a maximum speed of 20 Mbps .
He said that breaking of the copper wire and steeling of copper wires was a hindrance in providing an uninterrupted broadband and telephone service through traditional system and now the Fiber to Home service would provide a most viable alternative to the traditional system.
The BSNL official said the FTTH system will provide speed of 1,000 Mbps with high quality voice call facility. He said that FTTH system is not affected by dust, water and other things.
These services will be available now at Kangra, Jassure, Palampur, Chamba and Dalhousie from Friday.
