Bodies of 2 more Naxals recovered, toll rises to 39

Nagpur, Apr 25 (UNI) The death toll following a massive operation against naxals in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district since Sunday rose to 39, with bodies of two more naxals being fished out of the river on Wednesday, police said.
“Two more bodies of Naxals were recovered from the Indravati river during a search operation,” police said.
“Two more bodies and some body parts, probably eaten by crocodiles, were also fished out from the river in the Kasnasur forest area of Gadchiroli district,” police said. Of the 39 bodies recovered so far, 16 have been identified, police said, adding that the identified outlaws carried a combined reward of Rs 1.06 crore.
The operation is the result of coordination between C-60 commandos of the Maharashtra Police in hot pursuit of naxals.
“In the operation by C-60 squad in the Kasanasur forest area, 16 bodies of Naxals (9 men and 7 women) were recovered on April 22,” police said.
“Due to heavy rains and lack of manpower, search was stopped. On Monday, an operation was launched to search for bodies in the Indravati river and 15 more bodies were recovered,” the official said.
“In another operation in the Kapewancha area of Rajaram Khandla post on Monday, six Naxals were killed and their bodies recovered. These include two men and four women,” the official added.

Bhopal, Feb 21 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath expressed confidence on Friday that he will script a fresh chapter of tourism development with private-sector cooperation, it was officially learnt.
Inaugurating the Serendipity Lakes and Resort in Tamia near Patalkot, a well-known travel destination in Chhindwara district, he said, “Investors shall be encouraged in the touristry sphere. With the opening of this retreat, people of our state and other parts of the country will become familiar vis-a-vis the area’s speciality. Regional culture shall develop and local products will receive a wide market. A Cabinet meeting shall be conducted in Tamia in the near future. Small entrepreneurs of the area will be encouraged. My dispensation shall encourage other ventures also to enhance economic activities.”
