BJP will name Ramesh Bidhuri as Delhi CM candidate: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jan 11 (UNI) With the Delhi Assembly election drawing closer, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday claimed that BJP will name Ramesh Bidhuri as its CM candidate in the coming days.
Addressing the media, Kejriwal challenged to BJP’s CM face to participate in public debate after official announcement of candidature.
“The Delhi elections are approaching. During elections, everyone wants to know who the Chief Ministerial candidate from each party is. From the Aam Aadmi Party's side, this has been clear from the beginning. The entire party had decided unanimously that I, Arvind Kejriwal, would be the Chief Ministerial candidate,” he said.
“As for the BJP, it wasn’t clear who their candidate would be. “Yesterday, their Central Election Committee held a meeting. According to sources, it has been learned that the BJP may have decided in that meeting to nominate Ramesh Bidhuri as their Chief Ministerial candidate,” the former CM claimed.
“It is being said, as per sources, that an official announcement about Ramesh Bidhuri’s name will be made within a day or two,” he added.
“What is his vision for Delhi? What plans does he have for the city and its people if he becomes the Chief Minister? He should clarify these to the people of Delhi.” Kejriwal raised questions, challenging Bidhuri, to explain people what work he has done for Delhi in the last ten years as a Member of Parliament.
“Once his candidacy is officially announced, I propose that to strengthen democracy, there should be a public debate between the Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate and the BJP’s candidate, Ramesh Bidhuri, in front of the people of Delhi, the nation, and the media.
In this debate, people can assess who to vote for, based on what each has accomplished, their visions, and their plans for Delhi,” the AAP National Convenor said.
He said that the party will wait for Ramesh Bidhuri’s official announcement, likely in a day or two, and then it will see what happens next. “Ultimately, the people will decide who is right and who is wrong,” Kejriwal added.
