BJP on 'mission 60 plus two' in Arunachal

BJP on 'mission 60 plus two' in Arunachal

Itanagar, Feb 14 (UNI) With few months left for the Assembly polls in the State, and Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP in Arunachal Pradesh is on a ‘mission 60 plus two’ (60 Assembly and two parliamentary seat), and confident of retaining the Government in Arunachal Pradesh.

“BJP Arunachal Pradesh’s mission is 60 plus two, sixty Assembly and two Parliamentary seat. We are fully ready,” State BJP president Tapir Gao said, on being asked about party’s preparations in the State for the upcoming Assembly as well as Lok Sabha polls.

The strength of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly is 60 and it has two Lok Sabha seat.

Mr Gao also exuded confidence that next Government in the State will be under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu again, and in the national level Prime Minister Narendra Modi would return again.

“The public and poor people of the country have full faith, confidence on the performance in the leadership of Narendra Modi ji at Centre, and Pema Khandu ji in Arunachal Pradesh. The public of Arunachal Pradesh is in need of Modi ji and Pema ji,” he added.

On the issues on which the party would focus, the state BJP chief said, “Pema Khandu has brought lot of changes in the administration. There will be lot of changes again in administration delivery, and people will benefit under his leadership.”

Replying to a question on whether BJP will go for a pre poll alliance with National People’s Party (NPP), Mr Gao said, “ There will be no alliance with any other political parties .BJP will go alone in the 60 Assembly seat and two parliamentary seat.”

On allegation of corruption against the ruling Government, Mr Gao said, “political parties are criticising the Government for the sake of Opposition. They should criticise the Government with constructive views through which the Government can run and exercise properly . If they have proof of anything , then Government will take necessary action.’’

On the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), 2016, issue, the party’s state president said it will hardly affect on the party’s performance in the upcoming polls.

“In particular to Arunachal Pradesh , there will be zero impact with regard to this case. This (CAB) is

an issue less issue now because the Rajya Sabha has not taken up the at the moment. It will not have any impact on Arunachal politics because everybody knows that AP is a protected land ,’’ Mr Gao said.
