BJP IT chief denies party's links with Cambridge Analytica

New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) BJP's IT cell head Amit Malviya on Wednesday asserted that the party does not have any dealings with dubious firms and said the version of all websites and individuals who claim to have helped saffron party's election campaign in 2014, need not be true.
''There are at least 1,000 websites and 10,000 individuals who claim to have managed BJP's 2014 campaign! The world is full of people who claim fake credit for the most successful campaign ever. BJP, unlike Congress, doesn’t have dealings with dubious firms involved in sex and bribe!'' Mr Malviya tweeted responding to allegations and queries that the ruling party had links with the controversial data mining firm Cambridge Analytica.
Earlier, Congress social media head Divya Spandana had tweeted,''Can the BJP4India @narendramodi clarify if they’ve engaged Cambridge Analytica?''
Referring to global media reports that Cambridge Analytica has "claimed to have influenced" polls in countries including the United States, Kenya and Nigeria, BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad wanted to know: "Kya Congress party ney inse koi data ka sauda kya hae (Whether Congress party has done some data trade with this company)".
BJP sources have maintained that none other than Congress chief Rahul Gandhi announced in February first week creating of a 'Data Analytics' department at the party headquarters under the leadership of a former investment banker Praveen Chakravarty.
