BJKM holds cleanliness drive in memoir of assassinated leader in Tripura's Kamalpur

Ambassa (Tripura), Jul 26 (UNI) Offering tribute to an assassinated leader who hailed from the very district some four years ago, the Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha (BJKM) on Monday held massive cleanliness drive in the local market in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur.
The BJKM Committee for 45 Kamalpur assembly constituency arranged for the drive at local Manikbhander market. It was on the occasion of assassinated BJP leader Nishikanta Chakma from Chawmanu area in the district who was assassinated allegedly by leftist goon on 25th of July in 2017. Hundreds of BJKM activists swept the brooms and gathered the waste scattered around the market this morning. At the same time, the activists under the leadership of BJKM Mandal President Pintu Sharma spread awareness message among the people to stop littering. Later, Pintu said, "We are here to clean the market. It is significant that the martyr dreamt of clean and fair society and environment. Hence, besides spreading awareness about a clean and happy society, we are also determined to clean our environment".
The filthy atmosphere of the market got some respite today, according to the local traders.
