Bharat Biotech receives Natl Techology Award 2018

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech received the National Technology Award for 2018 from the Technology Development Board for its outstanding innovative technologies in developing and commercialisation from India on Rotavac vaccine.

The Award was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind at a function held at New Delhi on Friday.

Rotavac vaccine which was launched in 2015 by the Bharat Biotech, was introduced into the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) in India in 2016, with initial implementation in nine States and with more States in the pipeline.

Till date, Bharat Biotech has supplied about 35 million doses to the UIP.

The Pharma company has also initiated supply of WHO Prequalified Rotavac to UNICEF and other immunisation programs world-wide.

Expressing happiness over receiving the Award, Bharat Biotech CMD Dr Krishna M Ella, said it proves that Researchers and product developers from India are capable to develop and commercialise innovative technologies for the world.
