Ayodhya verdict: Security tightened in national capital

New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) As the Supreme Court is scheduled to announce the verdict in the Ayodhya case on Saturday, security was stepped up in the national capital on Friday, in view of avoiding any situation that could affect the law and order situation.
According to sources, police has put in place tight security arrangements, to prevent any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi on Friday met the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and the state Director General of Police (DGP) and took stock of the law and order situation in Ayodhya and other parts of the state.
According to sources in the Supreme Court registry, the CJI took stock of the situation in Ayodhya and other sensitive places in UP, ahead of the landmark Ayodhya Ram Janmabhumi Babri Masjid land dispute case.
The top officials of the state government briefed the CJI that they are prepared and have taken all the necessary steps for maintaining the law and order situation.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also appealed to the public of the state not to believe in any kind of misinformation and has said that if anyone is found flouting any law or creating any kind of situation pertaining to law and order, will face appropriate action.
''The administration is fully committed to protect everyone and maintain law and order in the state,'' he tweeted.
