Apple halts online sales in Turkey amid currency meltdown

Ankara, Nov 24 (UNI/Sputnik) Apple stopped online sales in Turkey on Wednesday, a day after its national currency crashed to a record low of 13.21 against the US dollar.
The Turkish version of the iPhone maker’s website appeared to function as normal but anyone who tried to add an Apple product to the shopping cart was told that it was unavailable.
A Sputnik correspondent in Ankara said that buying an Apple device at a retail store in the capital was almost impossible. Sellers explained it by the currency’s volatility.
