Anup Chandra Pandey appointed new chief secretary of UP

Lucknow, Jun 27(UNI) Industrial Development Commissioner(IDC) Anup Chandra Pandey has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Mr Pandey, will take the place of Rajive Kumar who is retiring in the month end.

According to an official communique, along with the CS post, Mr Pandey will continue to be the IDC, chairman Greater Noida and head of institutional finance and infrastructure.

The 1984 batch IAS officer was the brainchild to the investors meet held in Lucknow where a record Rs 4.68 lakh crore investment proposals were attracted.

However, Mr Pandey will only stay in the post for around 8 months and he will superannuate in February, 2019.

Rajive Kumar, attended his last cabinet meeting on Wednesday where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked the chief secretary for his effort to make the bureaucracy more efficient.

"During his around one year tenure, the state marched ahead under his leadership with not a single finger pointed on him about his wrong doing," the Chief Minister appreciated.

The senior IAS officer is likely to be appointed on some post in the government very soon, said government spokesperson and Health Minister Sidharthnath Singh on Wednesday.

In the Cabinet meeting, Rajive Kumar also thanked the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers for their support and cooperation.

Shimla, May 19 (UNI) About 45.3 per cent polling was recorded till 1300 hrs on Sunday, in four Parliamentary Constituencies of Himachal Pradesh. The four Lok Sabha seats - Kangra recorded 40.07 per cent, Mandi 41.50 per cent, Hamirpur 44.66 pc and Shimla 42.75pc.
