Amarinder helping liquor barons, cheating farmers : Chugh

Chandigarh, Feb 23 (UNI) BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday said that Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's double standards on farmers welfare were exposed after he favoured a liquor baron to set up a distillery in Hiranwali village in Fazilka district.
In a statement here, Chugh said farmers of 29 villages have been protesting against the setting up of liquor distillery but the Amarinder government, which claimed itself to be supporter of farmers, has overlooked farmers' pain to help a liquor baron.
He also lambasted state Minister Rana Gurjit Sodhi for playing a dubious role in the controversy. He said ever since the Amarinder Singh government has come to power it had been promoting liquor mafias much at the cost of common man's health.
