Amaravati Global Music, Dance Festival from Nov 17

Vijayawada, Nov 3 (UNI) In its endeavour to promote Amaravati as a global hub for culture, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority will conduct the two-day second edition of Amaravati Global Music and Dance Festival to BERM Park, on the bank of the river Krishna from November 17.
To promote ‘Brand Amaravati’ and give a thrust to tourism, the festival coincides with the "F1H20 World Championship" which is being held at the same venue on November 17 and 18.
The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Tourism Bhuma Ahkila Priya. This free-to-enter festival features power packed global fusion extravaganza by renowned Indian and International Artists from Carnatic, Hindustani, Bollywood, Tollywood, Pop, Jazz, Rock and Folk industry.
In addition, the festival will also witness a variety of dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Flamenco. An exclusively composed festival anthem and promo featuring the artists’ lineup was also launched at the press conference held at BERM Park, Vijayawada on Saturday.
The Amaravati Global Music and Dance Festival 2018 will host the Andhra Idol, the first ever digital singing talent hunt in the state. Andhra Idol will unearth hidden singing talent across Andhra Pradesh and give the winner a golden opportunity to share the stage with leading music maestros of India. The participants will be judged by the AP Creativity and Culture Commission CEO Vijay Bhaskar and the team.
In order to take part in the contest, participants can upload their entries online on www.andhraidol.com between November 3 and 11. The top 100 will be called for on-ground auditions on November 15 in Vijayawada, out of which 3 finalists will be shortlisted to perform at the festival along with the leading musicians. The auditions are open only to the people residing in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking about the festival, Secretary of Tourism department Mukeh Kumar Meena said, “The second edition of the Amaravati Global Music and Dance Festival 2018 promises to be a vibrant affair with performances by some of the best artists in India and the world. Through this concert, we want to showcase our rich cultural heritage and diversity which is embedded in music, peace, love and harmony.”
AP Tourism Authority CEO Himanshu Shukla said “Amaravati has a rich history of dance, music and performing arts. We wish to take this legacy forward which we believe will bring music aficionados together.
This event is a joyous celebration of brotherhood and humanity,” he added.
