Akhilesh demands probe into UP Bar council chief's murder by HC judge

Akhilesh demands probe into UP Bar council chief's murder by HC judge

Etah, Jun 13 (UNI) Former chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday demanded that a judge of the High Court should probe the murder of UP Bar council chief Darvesh Yadav.

He said that there was no point in pinning hopes for justice on the Yogi Adityanath government as crimes were being committed at a time when the chief minister was conducting a meeting on law and order situation.

Mr Yadav, who came to attend the last rites of the first woman president of UP Bar Council, told reporters that the murder in a lawyer's chamber in the Agra civil court premises is such a big incident that it cannot even be imagined by someone.

He said, "Following the elections, Samajwadi Party workers are being targeted and killed. We will give a list to the Governor about the people who have been murdered. The government should provide an assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the family of the deceased.

The role of the police should also be probed in these murder cases. People cannot hope for justice from this government."
