New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) Acclaimed agro-economist and a former member of the PM's Economic Advisory Council Prof VS Vyas passed away at his residence in Jaipur this morning.
Padambhushan Vyas was 87. He is survived by wife and two sons.
Prof Vyas was a former member of the PM Economic Advisory Council. An independent economist Vyas worked at economic advisory council under two Prime Ministers of different ideologies and parties--late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr Manmohan Singh.
The octogenarian also worked as Vice Chairman in the Rajasthan State Planning Board under the then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Prof Vyas was conferred with Padambhushan in 2006.
Earlier, he also worked with the World Bank.
