Panaji, Apr 7 (UNI) Classical singer and Dhrupad maestro Pandit Ritwik Sanyal has said that care must be taken to maintain the purity in the classical music form and add elements that respect it while enriching the tradition.
Speaking exclusively to UNI, he said,'When we talk about Indian classical music, We don't have a contemporary form, as it is a tradition that evolves from the same root. We can see it as a river where the same water gets richer and wider while flowing. We must take care to maintain the purity in the musical form and add elements that respect while enriching the tradition.'
'People must be educated and encouraged to appreciate and support the classical music form, as it is very essential for everyone to preserve and sustain this great treasure which gives lots of wealth and peace to the souls,' he said.
