'Parasite' wins big at Oscars

Los Angeles, Feb 10 (UNI) South Korean movie 'Parasite' created history by becoming the first foreign-language film to win the "Best Picture' Oscar with Director Bong Joon-ho bagging the 'Best Director' trophy.
Parasite a dark comedy about class-differences also won the 'Best Original Screenplay' and 'Best International Feature Film' award.
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt and Laura Dern won their first acting Oscars on Sunday for their respective roles in 'Marriage Story' and 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'.
"This is the best birthday present ever," said Dern, who will turn 53 on Monday.
In the acting category Rene Zelwegger won the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Judy Garland in 'Judy', while the Best Actor trophy went to Joaquin Phoenix for DC comics character 'Joker'.

'American Factory' the first film produced by former American President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground Production won the award for Best Documentary Feature. It is an account of decline of jobs in the industrial Midwest.
The Best Original Song trophy went to the song '(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again' from the film Rocketman, which has been written by Sir Elton John and Bernie Taupin and performed by Elton John and Taron Egerton.
The Best Original Score award was won by Hildur Guonadottir for 'Joker'.
Roger Deakins won the trophy for 'Best Cinematographer' for his long takes and elaborately choreographed moving camera shots for the World War I epic '1917'.
Nazi satire 'Jojo Rabbit' brought a best adapted screenplay Oscar for director, star and writer Taika Waititi.
Eminem took the Oscars stage to perform 'Lose Yourself,' his 2003 Oscar-winning song from the movie '8 Mile.'
The nominees and winners of the 92nd Academy Awards were chosen by the 8,000 members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
