Zubeen gets 3 months jail for slapping teenager; released on bail

Guwahati, Oct 6 (UNI) Popular singer and film maker Zubeen Garg was today sentenced
to three months imprisonment by a local court here on charge of assaulting a minor.
He was, however, released on bail later.
The court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate pronounced Garg guilty of physically
assaulting the teenager at Zoo Road area of Guwahati in 2013.
He has been sentenced to three months of imprisonment and slapped with Rs 5,000 fine.
Garg procured bail in the case later in the day and was spared from going to the jail today.
The youth icon can later appeal against the judgement at a higher court.
Garg, who is one of the most popular music composer and singer of national repute, had
slapped the teenager on seeing the boy smoking in 2013.
