Harare, Jan 22 (UNI) Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa returned to his home from a trade mission to Europe a week after violent protests over rising fuel costs left at least a dozen people dead.
“In light of the economic situation, I will be returning home after a highly productive week of bilateral trade and investment meetings,” Mnangagwa tweeted on Sunday. He said he will skip the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this week.
Ministers say the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) is using sharp fuel price increases as a pretext for violence.
