Yuri Alemao becomes new LoP in Goa Assembly

Panaji, Sep 30 (UNI) Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao became the new Leader of Opposition in the Goa Assembly on Friday after Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar recognised him for the post.
''The Speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly, has recognised Yuri Alemao as Leader of Opposition in the Goa Legislative Assembly with effect from September 30, 2022,'' a notification from Goa Assembly said.
Recently, All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Sonia Gandhi had appointed the first time MLA as leader of the opposition in the state assembly.
