YSRCP degraded Andhra Assembly reputation: Naidu

YSRCP degraded Andhra Assembly reputation: Naidu

Vijayawada, June 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said in the Legislative Assembly that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-headed previous government marred the ethical values of the legislature turning it as a platform for personal attacks and blaming others.

Naidu in his maiden address to the House regretted that the previous dispensation turned the Assembly into a ‘Kaurava Sabha’ only to level baseless allegations passing highly objectionable comments against the leaders and even their family members. "I have entered this highly respectable House with all the blessings of the people," the CM said.

Recalling the highly derisive comments made against the then Opposition (the TDP) Chandrababu Naidu said that now the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 164 seats which comes to 1+6+4=11 that the YSRCP has won in the 2024 election. This is the number that the YSRCP has inside the Assembly, he added.

Pointing out the comments made against the Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, that the YSRCP would not allow Pawan Kalyan even to touch the gates of the Assembly, Chandrababu Naidu said that now the Jana Sena has emerged victorious in all the seats that the party has contested. "The Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, knows where to win and where to bow down," the Chief Minister lauded.

In an oblique reference to the YSRCP, the Chief Minister stated that the people have given a mere 11 seats to the party which claimed 'why not 175' and said that this is ‘God's script’. Alerting the members of the House not to function with arrogance, Chandrababu Naidu told them to utilise the floor of the House only to discuss the people's problems.

Observing that entering a legislative House is a rare opportunity, Chandrababu told the members to always remember what they should do for the people as this is a sacred responsibility for all the MLAs. Informing the MLAs that the whole State is observing what the members discuss on the floor of the House, he regretted that when some objectionable comments were made against him and his family members on the floor during the previous regime he was not given the mic even to protest.

Maintaining that he has won the Assembly elections for ninth time and functioned as the Chief Minister for 14 years and as the Leader of the Opposition for 15 years, Naidu said that he got rare opportunities to discharge his duties in both positions.

Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the need for construction of capital city Amaravati, interlinking rivers, and completion of the Polavaram project across the river Godavari, stating that if they are completed the State would receive investments that ensure employment generation.
