Youth shot dead over petty dispute in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur (UP), Feb 22 (UNI) A 32-year-old youth was shot dead during a marriage function allegedly over a petty dispute in the Jalalabad area of the district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said on Thursday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Manoj Kumar Awasthi said that the incident took place in Sultanpur Dibiyapur village, where Kamil shot Nihal Ashraf dead with his licensed weapon during a marriage function late on Wednesday night. "The accused escaped from the spot after the incident," he said.
He said that while Kamil is the brother of Nagar Palika chairman Shakeel Khan, Nihal is his brother-in-law. "Nihal came from Mumbai to attend the marriage function," he said.
