Youth gets 3 yrs in jail in molestation case

Nanded, Aug 17 (UNI) A sessions court at Bhokar on Saturday sentenced a 26-year-old youth to three years in jail for molesting a teenage girl in 2016.
The accused, a resident of Bhokar, used to stalk the class IX student while on her way to a private coaching class.

On April 17, 2016, upon spotting the girl at the railway station, the accused insisted her to go with him on a motorcycle, and on refusal, he snatched the girl's mobile phone and molested her, the court was told.
Following the incident, the girl's father lodged a complaint with the Bhokar police, who filed a case under section 354 (d) of Indian Penal Code and sections 11(4) and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, against the accused.
The police investigated the matter and filed a chargesheet in the court.
After examining six witnesses, Additional Sessions Judge M S Sheikh found accused Amol Ashok Kadam guilty of molesting the teenage girl and awarded the sentence.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the accused.
