Youth Cong protests outside Gadkari's residence against hiked traffic fines

Youth Cong protests outside Gadkari's residence against hiked traffic fines

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Indian Youth Congress supporters on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari's official residence opposing the fine hike against traffic violations.

The supporters raised slogans against the new MV act amendments rules that were causing problems for the poor as the challans were exorbitantly risen that were even more than the value of the vehicles in many cases.

IYC said that the fines were unrealistic and were being forcefully levied on the commoners.

IYC president Srinivas BV also hit out at the Delhi Traffic Police saying that the police has come up with a system on their website that gives access to everyone regarding the vehicle owner details just on entering the registration number.

A large number of protestors had gathered outside Mr Gadkari's residence this afternoon who also left two-wheelers there to mark their protest.

Traffic on Akbar road from the Round about near Gadkari's residence upto the Man Singh Road round about had to be diverted because of the large numbers of protestors for some time.
