Panaji, Nov 27 (UNI) The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa has attracted a
large number youths this year.
According to data released by IFFI, almost 50 per cent of over 7,800 delegates belong to the 18 to 35 years age group. Eighteen was the minimum age required to register as delegate.
While those between 36 and 50 years age group are 27 per cent, 18 per cent belong to 51 to 65 years. Those above 66 years are only six per cent.
Among the delegates, 18 per cent are students, 16 per cent film professionals and 66 per cent cine enthusiasts.
A maximum 34 per cent delegates belong to Goa, followed by 13 per cent from Kerala. While eight per cent hail from neighbouring Maharashtra, six per cent from Tamil Nadu and remaining 37 per cent belong to other places.
More than 220 films from 67 countries are being screened at the 49th edition of IFFI which began on the 20th of this month. Out of this, the highest 16 per cent are English movies, followed by 13 per cent Hindi, 6 per cent French; and Malayalam, Spanish, Hebrew and Arabic 4 per cent each. Remaining 49 per cent films belong to other languages.
The nine-day event will come to an end on Wednesday.
