You will see a CM soon, says Rahul as he meets Cong observers for Rajasthan

New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Amid suspense over the chief ministerial face for Rajasthan, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that an announcement on the chief minister of the state will be made soon.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr Gandhi, who met party observers for the state K C Venugopal and Avinash Pandey here this morning, said,' We are taking inputs from different people in the party. We are taking inputs from MLAs, from workers. You will see a Chief Minister soon.'
Party sources said Mr Venugopal and Mr Pandey met the Congress president at his residence at Tuglaq road where they informed him about the views of the Congress MLAs in Rajasthan.
The sources said an announcement on the name of the state chief minister is likely by Thursday evening.
The suspense over who will be the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh continues to mount with the Congress legislators in the three states authorising the party president to take the final call.
The Congress observers on Wednesday held closed-door interactions with the Congress MLAs in MP and Rajasthan. However, the legislature party of the two states left it for Mr Gandhi to take the final decision.
While in Rajasthan, Mr Ashok Gehlot and Mr Sachin Pilot are contenders for the position, in Madhya Pradesh the race is between Mr Kamal Nath and Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia.
While the supporters of Mr Nath and Mr Gehlot cite their experience as the reason for making them chief minister, which would be crucial in stabilising the fragile new governments in both the states, supporters of Mr Pilot and Mr Scindia are seeking a generational shift in leadership, saying it would send a positive signal to the youth.
