Yogi slams Congress for facilitating infiltration in Northeast

Agartala, Feb 8 (UNI) Charging Congress for facilitating infiltration in India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday appealed to Tripura voters to cast in favour of BJP candidates and forfeit the deposit of Congress and CPI(M) to secure the country’s sovereignty
and integrity.
He was addressing an election rally at Fatikroy of Unokoti seeking vote for the BJP candidates for four assembly constituencies of the district. This is the second day Yogi has been campaigning in Tripura and on Tuesday evening he held a road show in the capital city for Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
“During Congress regime, huge illegal infiltration took place in the Northeast and the party has facilitated the infiltration across India. There was no safety of the territory, animals especially cattle smuggling used to happen,” Yogi alleged
At the behest of the double engine government led by Modiji, the region saw a facelift and development became a priority. Tripura has got as many as six new national highways, railway connectivity is extended to all major cities of the country, airport has been upgraded with
international transit facilities, and the state has become the third international internet gateway
of the country, Yogi reminded.
He pointed out that Modiji has been feeding the poor people of the country with free ration, saved
the whole population from Covid pandemic providing free healthcare facilities and vaccine, 3.8
lakh families of the state got housing under PMAY, 2.5 lakh families got cooking gas connection
and about 53 percent of households have been provided with safe drinking water connection and many more development are waiting for Tripura.
“Because of Congress, CPI(M) ruled the state for more than 25 years. Congress also ruled the state for a long time. But never worked to understand the feelings of Tripura and allowed infiltration, the state deprived of development, no connectivity was there and kidnapping, killings were a routine”,
he recalled and added the country is safe in the hands of Narendra Modi and voting to BJP would further strengthen the Prime Minister.
Yogi claimed that at first the law and order was restored under BJP government in Tripura and put
a stop on violence, religious places are now safe , women are safe, women police stations were set up and 33% reservation for women was brought into practice by BJP led government in Tripura.
