Lucknow, Apr 19 (UNI) Claiming that the Supreme Court's verdict on the Judge Loya case has exposed the Congress and its partners, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday hit out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi seeking an apology from him.
" The term of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been converted to Political Interest Litigation by the Congress and its partner political parties," he said.
Talking to mediapersons here, the CM said Rahul Gandhi had given a memorandum signed by 150 MPs to the President for probe into the Judge Loya's death and had charged the BJP leadership behind the death.
" But the verdict of the SC has once again vindicated the BJP president Amit Shah that he is totally innocent and Judge Loya died due to natural reasons," he said. The court also ruled that the PIL was political motivated, the CM added.
"The verdict in Judge Loya case has exposed the Congress once again. Mr Gandhi should apologize to the people of the country,as the Congress have tried to create such an environment in the country that develops negative emotions in people for the government," he said.
Yogi Adityanath said that through this frivolous PILs, Congress has tried to do politics and to create disturbances in the country.
" Rahul Gandhi should come on the ground to do politics and not indulge in such nasty conspiracy to insult the judiciary and to hit below the belt of the rival politician," he said." Congress leaders always feel that the only a family of the party can rule the country and when a poor and a common person gets the post they go for such conspiracy to defame them," he further alleged.
However, the UP CM was also critical on the statement of some senior most lawyers after the SC ruling. " Some lawyers have insulted their own profession which is very unfortunate," he said without taking any names.
