Yogi's major reshuffle takes place

Lucknow Aug 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on late Thursday night carried out a major reshuffle in the state ministry creating a new ministry of Jal Shakti in league with Union government and changed portfolios of many senior ministers.

After induction of 18 new ministers and promoting 5 of the present ministers on Wednesday, the new ministers were distributed the deparrtments , official sources here said.

Now the total strength of the UP ministry goes up to 56 with 25 cabinet rank including CM and two deputy CMs , 9 MOS (Independent charge) and 22 MOS.

Dr Mahendra singh, who has been elevated from the MoS (Independent Charge) to Cabinet rank has been made first Jal Shakti minister. CM also cracked a whip stripping important portfolios of Health, Stamp and Registration from Sidarth nath Singh and Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi respectively.
But no change was made in the portfolios of two deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma. Maurya will be heading important PWD along with three other departments while Dr Sharma will be cabinet minister of Secondary and Higher education along with three other departments.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will hold 37 departments including Home, estate, revenue, food and civil supplies, Mining, Registration, Jail, Vigilance, appointment, Information and election.
Finance department has been given to Parliamentary Affairs minister Suresh Khanna who was Parliamentary affairs and Urban development minister. Khanna retains parliamentary affairs ministry. Earlier Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal had resigned citing his age. Urban Development Ministry has gone to Ashutosh tandon Gopal ji. He was earlier Medical education minister.
Similarly, Health ministry is given to Jai Pratap Singh, who was earlier excise Minister. The former Health Minister Sidharth Nath Singh would be heading Khadi Gramodyog, Export Promotion, MSME and NRI along with three other departments.
Former cricket Test player Chetan Chauhan has been stripped of Sports ministry. Upendra Tiwari now would be Sports minister while Chetan Chauhan is Home Guard and political pension minister.
Among other ministers Surya Pratap Shahi retains agriculture and allied ministries. Swamy Prasad Maurya too retains his labour and employment ministry. Satish Mahana continues to be Industrial development Minister while Forest Minister Dara Singh Chauhan retains his ministry. Ramapati Shastri would be social welfare minster, while Brjesh pathak retains Law ministery but gets additional charge of RES.
Laxmi Narain Chaudhry is Animal husbandry minister and is also in-charge of Fisheries and Dairy development. Shrikant Sharma also retained power ministry while Rajendra Pratap Singh `Moti Singh” is rural development Minister. Earlier he was RES minister. The co-operative Minister Mukut Bihari retains his ministry,
Nandi who has been stripped of Stamp and registration Ministry however retains Civil Aviation and gets a new department of minority welfare.
Suresh Rana, who is elevated as Cabinet minster retains Cane development ministery. Bhupendra singh Chaudhry is Panchayati raj minister. Anil Rajbhar is backward minister while Ram naresh Agnihotri gets important excise ministry. The lone women cabinet minister Kamla Rani varun, gets technical education department.
Among the Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dharam Singh Saini is Ayush Minister, Swati Singh is ICDS and Women welfare minister, Neelkanth tiwari is Tourism and Culture minister, Kapil Dev Agarwal is Vocational and Skill development Minister, Satish Dwivedi is Primary Education minister, Ashok Kataria will be new transport minister, Shri Ram Chauhan is horticulture and Agriculture marketing minister, Ravindra Jaiswal and Stamp and Court fees ministers.

Gulabo devi (Secondary education), Jai Pratap Nishad (Animal Husbandry), Jai Kumar Singh jaikey (Prison), Atul Garg (Health and family welfare), Ranvendra Pratap Singh (Food and Civil supplies), Mohsin Raza (Minority welfare), Girish Chandra Yadav (Housing and urban development), Baldeo Aulakh(Jal Shakti), Manohar Lal (Labour), Sandeep Singh (Finance, Medical education), Suresh Pasi (Cane development), Anil Sharma (Forest), Mahesh Gupta (Urban development), Anand Swarop Shukla (Parlaimentary Affairs), Vijaykashyap (Revenue and flood control), Giriraj Singh Dharmesh (Social welfare), Lakhan singh Rajput (Agriculture), Nilima Katiyar (Higher education), Ch Udai Bhan Singh (MSME and Khadi), Chandrika Prasad Upadhaya (PWD), Ramashankar patel (Energy) Ajit P Singh (Electronics).

Akhilesh claims receiving threat message
