Yogi meets injured, families of deceased who died in tractor-trolley incident

Kanpur(UP), Oct 2 (UNI) Cancelling his scheduled Balrampur visit, the Chief Minister on Sunday reached the Kanpur Hallet Hospital and inquired about the well-being of the persons injured in tractor-trolley incident in Sadh area of the district.
The CM expressed his grief over the accident and directed the health department officials and doctors for the necessary care of the injured.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said he along with the Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana met the injured and were here to express condolences to the families who have lost their members in the accident.
He said the government has run several awareness programmes from time to time to prevent such accidents. "The President, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister all have expressed their grief over the tragic road mishap. Rs 2 lakh is being given to the kin of those who died in this accident and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Following the final rites, this sum will be given to the deceased's kin," he said.
Yogi said, "I have given instructions to the officials of the Transport Department to see to it that tractors, trolleys and trucks, which are meant for transportation of goods and for agriculture purposes, are not used for public transport. We will also run an awareness campaign in this regard for the public."
The CM said he has also directed the home and transport departments and all other departments on how to prevent road accidents. "It is deeply saddening, and both the central and state governments stand with the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic accident. But we must also raise awareness to prevent such accidents in future," he said.
CM Yogi also visited Kortha village where he met the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. While comforting the family members, Yogi assured of providing all possible assistance to them.
Notably, in a major incident in Kanpur 26 people, mostly women and children, died and nearly a dozen were injured when a tractor-trolley carrying pilgrims overturned in a roadside pond in Sadh area of the district late on Saturday evening.

Shimla, Dec 8 (UNI) Congress party made big came back in its old bastion in Shimla district as it won seven seat out of eight in the district ruling BJP wrestled three seats compared to 2017 election as it could retained only Chopal seat and lost in Jubbal Kotkhai and Shimla assembly seats. Among the prominent loser are sitting minister Suresh Bhardwaj. In n Assembly Constituency 60-Chaupal, Balbir Singh Verma of BJP defeated Rajneesh Kimta of Congress by 5033 votes. Balbir Verma got 25,873, Rajneesh Kimta 20,840, Dr Subhash Chand Manglet 13,706, Independent Ashok Kumar 463, AAP's Uday Singta 413, BSP's Bhagat Lal 382 while 550 voters pressed the NOTA button.
