Yogi dedicates book, unveils statue of Dr YD Singh in Basti

Basti (UP), Mar 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that the people of Basti, Gorakhpur and across the Purvanchal region will remember Dr YD Singh for a very long time to come and it was the good fortune of the area that such a soul was born there.

During the unveiling of Dr YD Singh’s statue and a memorial book at the AD Academy Dharampur, Dubaulia Bazar in Basti, the Chief Minister said, "Dr Singh was born in Basti, and his workplace was Gorakhpur. The heights he gave to Gorakhpur Medical College while discharging his duties are in front of all of us. The efforts he made at his level as a sensitive doctor to save the lives of lakhs of children of eastern UP are commendable, because at that time there was no money for medical college."
