Yoga very important for  police as stress buster: DCP

New Delhi, Jun 21(UNI) Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, along with 2000 Delhi Police personnel including the top brass, performed yoga on the occasion of World Yoga Day here in the capital.
Mr Patnaik led the 2,000 Delhi Police personnel in the yoga session organised at the Thyagaraj Stadium here
between 0700 to 0800 hrs and was joined by all the Special CPs, Joint CPs of the force, and performed different Yoga asanas.
'Lifestyle of a police person is full of stress and accordingly we want to spread more awareness about Yoga in our department as it helps in managing stress so that the police can serve the people and perform duties even better,' said the Police Commissioner.
'Last year also, we celebrated the Yoga Day. Yoga proves to be very important in managing health and stress and one should understand this, and we are working to spread awareness about yoga in our department, and such programs are being conducted throughout the year at district and police station level several times as it proves to be very helpful in life of a police personnel, said Mr Patnaik.
Practising Yoga keeps the Mind calm and composed, which is very important for everyone and specially for
police personnel as the kind of duty police performs demands a lot from an individual, Mr Patnaik added.
With emphasis on stress management , Delhi Police organises yoga camps and such activities
at police stations, districts and the academy.
Yoga is something that helps one strike the right balance within the mind body and soul which is very
important for a person performing such a tough duty.
