New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) The fourth International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the globe and people and public leaders from all walks of life and political affiliations and otherwise have lauded yoga as a tool to maintain good health and unifying factor.
The day is being celebrated in various foreign missions including in Pakistan.
"On 4th International Day of Yoga Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads worldwide Yoga celebrations from Dehradun. Some glimpses from Islamabad," tweeted Indian High Commission in Islamabad with a video footage.
Taking yoga to newer heights, in Nepal, local citizens and monks performed Yoga exercises at
12,500 feet in Muktinath.
President of South Korea Moon Jae-in in a series of tweets extended his "heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian people".
"As a means of seeking harmony between nature and man as well as between body and mind, yoga is widely loved in Korea also," he tweeted.
"In line with the aspirations enbodied by yoga, I hope that happiness and peace spread all around the world," he wrote.
Back home, in her tweet Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
extended greetings on the occasion of United Nations' International Day of Yoga.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani greeted people on the occasion.
In Bengaluru, BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa celebrated the occasion at Malleshwaram locality.
"Yoga is a way to have a divine lifestyle and also strengthen mind body and soul," he tweeted.
In Croatia, the International Day of Yoga was organised in 35 cities across the country.
Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar inaugurated the International Yoga Day celebrations along with the
Indian Ambassador Vani Rao at the House of Nobility in Helsinki in Finland.
Meanwhile, the Congress party through its Twitter handle greeted people on the occasion and said the day seeks to "drive awareness of Yoga across the world".
"Yoga transforms the body and mind and leads one on the path to greater self-discovery. International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing yoga and incorporating it in your daily life," tweeted All India Mahila Congress.
