Yediyurappa confident of forming stable gov't

Bengaluru, Dec 8 (UNI) A day before counting of votes, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday expressed confidence that BJP would win 13 Assembly seats and form a stable government for next three and a half year.

Speaking with media after inaugurating a newly constructed Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavan and launching various works taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 400 Crore at Yelahanka, in the outskirts of the City, today, Mr Yediyurappa sought cooperation of Opposition parties to provide a stable government for the remaining time.

He said that opposition Congress and JD(S) may win one seat each and hence he is confident of them extending support to the ruling BJP for overall development of the state.

The highlight of the by-election held on Dec 5 was that it was caused because of disqualification of MLAs (Congress 14 and JDS-3) for violating party whip and on charges of indulging in anti-party activities.

Most of the disqualified MLAs, who got elected from their respective Congress and JDS parties, are testing their political fortune on their arch rival BJP ticket.

The BJP has given ticket to 12 disqualified MLAs who helped in pulling down Congress-JDS Coalition government headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and come to power.
