Yard re-modelling work : SR partially cancels 2 passenger trains, regulate express train

Palakkad, Jan 24 (UNI) To facilitate the yard re-modelling work at Ottapalam station, Southern Railway (SR) has announced partial cancellation of two passenger trains, rescheduled an express train and regulated another passenger train.
A release from Divisional Office of SR here on Friday said, Train No. 56651 Coimbatore - Kannur passenger will be partially cancelled between Coimbatore and Shoranur on January 27 (Monday).
Train No. 56650 Kannur - Coimbatore Passenger will be partially cancelled between Shoranur and Coimbatore on January 27 (Monday).
Train No. 16792 Palakkad Junction -Tirunelveli Palaruvi Express scheduled to leave Palakkad Junction at 1605 hrs. on January 27 (Monday) will be rescheduled to leave Palakkad Junction at 1805 hrs. on the same day.
Train No 56605 Coimbatore-Thrissur Passenger will be regulated enroute by One hour on January 27 (Monday), the release added.

Kolar, Karnataka, Jul 16 (UNI) Police have nabbed eight persons, who allegedly pelted stones on an ambulance carrying the body of a 57-year-old Covid-19 victim for last rites at a burial ground in Bangerpet, police said on Thursday
Police said that the locals, from Gangammanapalya and Kumabarapalya gathered in huge numbers and refused to make way for the ambulance to pass as they feared infection of the virus if the body was taken through their locality.

Smuggled gold brought to UAE consulate 12 times, reveals accused

Kochi, Jul 16 (UNI) The accused in the gold smuggling case has revealed that
they smuggled gold to UAE consulate through Thiruvananthapuram airport 12
times before when Swapna and Sarith were working there and afterwards
The accused claimed that they made the fake emblem of UAE and fake stickers
of diplomatic baggage. The duo used to deliver the gold from airport to the
workshop of Sandeep Nair, sources said on Thursday.
