Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath portals to open on May 9, Badrinath on May 11

Dehradun, Apr 12 (UNI) The portals of Yamunotri temple, traditionally the first pilgrimage centre to be visited in the "Char Dham’’ circuit, would open on May 9, on the occasion of auspicious Akhay Tritiya in Hindu calendar, the temple committee announced on the occasion of Yamuna Jayanti today.
According to temple committee sources, the portals would open on May 9 at 1315 hrs with elaborate rituals. The idol of river Goddess Yamuna would leave its parental winter abode in Kharsali on May 9 morning, accompanied by her brother "Shanidev."
The temple of Gangotri would open on May 9 at 1230 hrs. The temple of Lord Kedarnath would also open for visitors the same day at 0700 hrs.
