New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Riding on some all-round performance, Pakistan eves beat India by two runs by duckworth Lewis method in the group stages of ICC Women World T20 at the iconic Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here today. Chasing a paltry 97, openers Nahida Khan(14) and Sidra Ameen(26) gave Pakistan the perfect start as compared to India, which only managed to score nine runs in the power-play. But soon Khan was caught at mid-on while trying to score a boundary off Shikha Pandey. Incoming batswoman Bismah Mahroof then forged a 29-run stand with Ameen for the second wicket to put Pakistan closer to Indian total. But just when Ameen seemed good at the crease, she was bowled by Rajeshwari Gayekward in the ninth over. After the fall of second wicket, Bismah Mahroof also could not add much to the score as she was sent back by Harmanpreet Kaur on five runs. Muneeba Ali and Iram Javed(10) then tried to take their team home but Indian skippper Mithali Raj took a brilliant catch to dismiss Javed off Julan Goswami. However, it was too late for the hosts as Pakistan needed only 24 runs at that time. MORE UNI TBA GAU KU 1915
