WSF-World junior squash Ends

Chennai, Jul 19 (UNI)The Indian challenge in the WSF-World junior squash championship ended on the second day at the round of 32 stage with the last remaining woman player Aishwarya Khubchandani falling to the second seed Hania El Hammamy of Egypt.
In fact last match reflected the predicament of the Indians after getting pitted against tough opponents, be it in the men's or women's sections. Still mention has to be made of the gritty Sanya Vats who plucked one game from her versatile Egyptian opponent Ingy Hammouda. Indeed that show gave her several rounds of cheers from the appreciative gathering. But Sanya could not keep the refreshing tempo going with the Egyptian playing with strong conviction. Yash Fadte too put up a fighting show against England boy James Wyatt, seeded 9/12. Yash lost over four games but till the end he held hopes of stretching the contest. The other Indians to go out were Ashita Bhengra in the junior women's section and Rahul Baitha and Veer Chotrani in the junior men's category.
Meanwhile, the Egytians kept marching ahead with confidence written all over the faces of their young men and women. The top seeds in both sections,all Egyptians, had smooth sailing but the day's biggest cheers were reserved for the unseeded Singapore girl Sneha Sivakumar who upset the 5/8 seed Elize Lazarus of England in four games for a place in the pre-quarterfinal.
