New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Wrestler-truned-actor Saurav Gurjar is all set to play the negative lead in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer movie 'Brahmastra', a trilogy inspired by the Indian mythology, trade sources said on Friday.

'Brahmastra,' featuring Ranbir as a superhero, is expected to go on floors by next month.

Alia will be playing Ranbir's love interest in the flick, to be directed by Ayan Mukherjee.

'Saurav will play a negative role,' sources said.

'The film is set in modern India. It is the energies, wisdom and powers in the film that come from ancient India,' Saurav said.

Saurav started his career in acting with small screen shows. After a reality show, he became quite popular with epic dramas. He has played strong roles in series like 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata' on television.

Saurav will start shooting for the movie from next month onwards.

The flick also stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. Produced by Dharma Productions, the movie is slated to release on August 15.
