Guwahati, Sep 22 (UNI) As the river island of Majuli in Assam continues to be without a cricket team of its own in spite of being declared a district four years ago, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has stepped in to help form a team in the district.
Due to absence of its own team and association, players and other personnel associated with cricket have been unable to participate in any BCCI or ACA organised tournaments.
Majuli – the world’s largest inhabited river island – was declared a new district four years back, making it mandatory for the island-district to form its own association and team, affiliated to the ACA.
