World Club foot Day Celebration at Orthopaedics Department of Orthopedics at DRPGMC TANDA

Kangra, June 3 (UNI) “World Clubfoot Day 2022” was celebrated today on 3rd June 2023 at DRPGMC Tanda to create awareness regarding this deformity and its treatment.

This day is celebrated in memory of Dr Ignacio Ponseti who invented this non operative “Ponseti plaster technique” for clubfoot correction. As all know clubfoot is a congenital deformity of feet in children which is present from birth, if not treated well in time this leads to severe disability in walking and participating in daily activities. With Ponseti plaster technique now it is possible to treat these kids early which can lead to permanent cure of this disease. This was stated by Dr. Bhanu Awasthi, Principal. Dr. RP Government Medical College, Tanda.
