World cinema at doorsteps of Assam children

Guwahati, Jan 19 (UNI) The best of world cinema have reached the doorsteps of children of Assam as the full-fledged First Guwahati International Children Film Festival got underway here today, while ‘satellite screenings’ will be conducted in select towns of the state soon.
As many as 50 children’s films from 23 countries would be screened at the Festival in main city Guwahati and select films from this bouquet will be shown through satellite in six towns of the state.
“We want children of all parts of the state to get a chance to view the best of world cinema. Hence, we have decided to hold satellite screenings at Dhubri, Charaideo, Silchar, Sadiya, Bongaigaon and Dhemaji, after the Festival in Guwahati,” Pabitra Margherita, chairman of Jyoti Chitrabon, said.
