Doha, Oct 1 (UNI) India's star javelin thrower Annu Rani progressed to finals of the World Athletics Championships beating her own national record here last night.
In her second round she threw a distance of 62.43m, improving her earlier national record 62.34m in March. She also became the only Indian to reach the finals of the women's javelin throw in the World Championships.
Annu finished third in Group A and qualified for the finals as the fifth-best performer of the qualification round.
