Works in Arunachal govt offices disrupted as employees on stir

Itanagar, Oct 20 (UNI) Functioning of the state government offices and schools across the hilly state of Arunachal Pradesh was today affected as the state government employees started a two-day pens and tools down strike in protest against government’s failure to fulfill their charter of demands.
The strike, launched by Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP), a conglomeration of several state government employees’ associations, to press for implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations, disrupted the functioning of almost all government establishments, including state civil secretariat, educational institutions and the offices of resident and deputy resident commissioners located in different parts of the country.
Though the government employees turned up for their work places - offices and schools - but all abstained from doing their duties, except for registering their attendance, according to CoSAAP general secretary G Riba.
