Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) In a significant development, the working President of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) K T Rama Rao met Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in the CLP office in the Assembly complex here on Saturday.
Mr Rao sought the cooperation and help of the CLP leader for the unanimous election of the deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Meanwhile, the notification for the election of the deputy speaker has already been issued. But with the name of former minister and Secunderabad MLA T Padma Rao doing the rounds as the prospective nominee of the ruling TRS, the election process for the post has become a mere formality as the opposition does not have enough strength to put up its candidate for the post.
Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will announce, once the election process is complete, the name of the new deputy speaker on Monday.
