Worked for all sections of the society - Nitish

Patna, Sept 19 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said his government had worked for all sections of the society with the same sincerity and dedication during the last 15 years in the state.
Mr Kumar while addressing a function organised to launch projects of the Rural Development Department, Urban Development and Housing Department and Labour Resources Department here through video conferencing, said that his government had worked for all sections of the society without any discrimination. Despite recession during the corona pandemic, the state government had taken care of the interest of its employees, he added.
Mr Kumar said that that state government had increased the salary of the teachers by 15 per cent who had been appointed by Panchayat Raj Institutions and local bodies. On the same pattern, teachers of Madrasa, minority schools and Sanskrit schools also got benefits of 15% increase in their salaries, he added.

COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 6,725, cases touch 3,65,692

Kolkata, Oct 29 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 6,725 with the death of 61
persons on Thursday, while the tally touched 3,65,692 with 3,989 new confirmed
cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 37,094, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,21,873.
The percentage of discharged rose to 88.02 per cent.
